Buying

Search or browse
Start from For rider or For horse, or search directly. Filters narrow by category, size, condition, discipline, county and price, and the URL keeps them — so a search you want to come back to is just a bookmark.
Check the fit before the price
Every listing carries structured details: condition, brand, size, discipline and location. Save your measurements and your horses to your profile and you stop converting sizes in your head.
Save what you are weighing up
Tap the heart on any listing — on the card in a grid or on the listing itself — and it lands in Saved. Nothing is reserved by saving it, so if you are sure, do not wait.
Make an offer
If the asking price is not quite right, send an offer with the amount you would pay and a line about why. The seller sees it in Messages and either accepts or declines. One open offer per listing at a time, so nobody is left tracking three versions of the same conversation.
Agree the handover
Once an offer is accepted, you and the seller settle payment and delivery between you. Cavelle does not take payment and does not arrange shipping.

Selling

Pick the right category
The category decides which fields you are asked for. Choosing it accurately is the single biggest thing you can do to be found — a bridle listed under rugs is invisible to everyone looking for a bridle.
Photograph it honestly
Daylight, a plain background, and one photo of every mark, scratch or repair. The first photo becomes the cover. Wear that is visible in the pictures is almost never a problem; wear that is discovered on arrival always is.
Price it, then leave room
Look at what comparable kit is listed for. Expect offers — pricing with a little room in it makes an offer feel like a negotiation rather than an insult.
Answer your offers
Offers appear in Messages with the listing attached. Accept or decline; a declined offer lets the buyer come back with a different number, and an answer either way is better than silence.

Staying safe

Cavelle does not hold your money, which means the usual precautions for a private sale apply in full.

Meet in a public place or at a yard, in daylight, and bring someone if you can.
See the item before you pay. Try the saddle on the horse if a saddle is what you are buying.
Be suspicious of any pressure to pay by an unusual method, or to move the conversation off Cavelle before you have agreed anything.
Keep the details of what you agreed — price, condition, who arranges delivery.
